Lackluster Offense Dooms Capitals in Loss to Bruins

"Some situations, you know he would like to do more with the puck," Carbery said of Ovechkin. "But it's early, and we're confident he'll find his groove."

In an effort to spark the offense, Carbery made some adjustments to his forward lines, moving Connor McMichael up to the top unit alongside Ovechkin and Dylan Strome. Aliaksei Protas, who had been on the first line, dropped down to the second unit with Tom Wilson and Pierre-Luc Dubois.
Defenseman Dylan McIlrath, who had been sidelined with an injury, was cleared for contact and participated in practice, providing a potential boost to the Capitals' blue line.
