Ottawa Redblacks Aim to Play Spoiler in Final Home Game

Redblacks Lean on Backup QB Adams in Season Finale

With their playoff hopes dashed, the Ottawa Redblacks are looking to the future as they host the Montreal Alouettes in their final home game of the season. Quarterback Tyrie Adams will get the start, his second career CFL appearance, as the Redblacks evaluate talent for next year.

Adams previously started for Ottawa back on June 30th, completing 14-of-20 passes for 185 yards in a loss to the Edmonton Elks. The Redblacks are hoping the young signal-caller can provide a spark against the playoff-bound Alouettes.

Injuries Mount for Struggling Redblacks

Ottawa's offensive line has been hit hard by injuries late in the season. Starting right tackle Drew Desjarlais has been ruled out for the second straight game due to a back issue. The Redblacks will turn to rookie D.J. Jones to fill in on the O-line.

Wide receiver James Letcher Jr., offensive lineman Jamar McGloster, and defensive back Robert Kennedy III are also sidelined for Montreal due to various injuries. The Redblacks will need to find ways to overcome these personnel losses against a talented Alouettes squad.
