Warriors Fall Short in Preseason Clash with Clippers
The Golden State Warriors wrapped up their 2025 NBA preseason with a 106-103 loss to the Los Angeles Clippers on Friday night. Despite a strong effort from Stephen Curry, who led the team with 28 points, the Warriors struggled to take care of the ball, committing 14 turnovers on the night.
Sloppy Play Plagues Warriors
Turnovers have been an issue for the Warriors throughout the preseason, and Friday's game was no exception. In addition to Curry's 6 giveaways, Draymond Green added 5 of his own as the team failed to maintain possession.
"We have to clean up the turnovers," Warriors guard Gary Payton II said bluntly after the game. "That's been a problem, and it's something we need to fix before the season starts."
Positives for the Warriors
While the loss was disappointing, there were still some bright spots for the Warriors. Curry's scoring outburst was a welcome sign, and rookie Patrick Baldwin Jr. continued his strong preseason with 15 points off the bench.
Additionally, the Warriors got their first look at offseason acquisition Al Horford, who is expected to provide veteran leadership and two-way play. Horford finished with 8 points and 6 rebounds in 22 minutes of action.
