Diamondbacks Make Coaching Changes, Lawlar Continues Winter Ball

Diamondbacks Bring in New Third-Base Coach

The Arizona Diamondbacks have shaken up their coaching staff, hiring J.R. House as the team's new third-base and catching coach. House joins the Diamondbacks after previously holding the same position with the Cincinnati Reds.

The move allows House, an Arizona resident, to be closer to his family year-round. He first began his coaching career with the Diamondbacks organization.

"We're excited to bring J.R. back to the Diamondbacks," said manager Torey Lovullo. "His experience and familiarity with our players and systems will be a valuable addition to our staff."

Lawlar Continues Winter League Play

Diamondbacks top prospect Jordan Lawlar is back in the Dominican Republic this offseason, suiting up for Tigres Del Licey in the Dominican Winter League.

This marks Lawlar's second straight year playing in the winter league, as he looks to gain additional experience and reps during MLB's offseason.

"Getting that extra playing time in the Dominican is huge for Jordan's development," said Diamondbacks farm director Josh Barfield. "He's shown great promise, and we're excited to see him continue to grow and improve his game."

Lawlar, a shortstop, is considered one of the top young talents in the Diamondbacks' system, alongside outfielder Corbin Carroll.
